Kim,
This is wonderfully gross.
It looks like ice, doesn't it?
Nice shot, glad you share this bit of Wisconsin. Poison ivy and wood ticks must be close by .... and a cow.

Thank you k-j and B. That is just the sort of replies I was hoping for. Helena Bonham-Carter played Ophelia in Hamlet with Mel Gibson and it was Franco Zeffirelli's adaptation, did they just upgrade leading men with Kenneth B.? That it is interesting. I never saw Midsummer's night dream with that bi...

Thanks, Tim, for the call to rise to the challenge, I fell for it. The temptation to write instead of (insert any duty here) is always easily let in my door. And always, thanks Ian for the words. I have edited and will place it above my original version. i'm not completely satisfied with the rhythm ...

Ben, My favorite line is Everyone else who remembers your days on the beach has moved on, somewhere out of range. It is filled with life and then sadness. I enjoyed the reading. Title is a mystery to me but it must be the name of the thing? The photo is very inviting, I'd like one. Thanks, Suzanne

Tim and Pauline,
Very entertaining reading. It is enjoyable to see the same words use by different people. I've got to get in gear and jump in.
Enjoyed,
Suzanne

Books to Film
Hi, I recently ordered Tess, the 2003 BBC series off the net and enjoyed watching it after reading the book ( although the book and the series were not completely the same story!) I saw Much Ado About Nothing with Emma Thompson in the 90's, loved it. So I decided to find it online and buy it. As I w...

Sharra, I am coming back to this just to tell you that I find this poem very, hmmm, comforting in some way. you have captured a feeling of reminiscing and yet it is not melancholic to a point of painful. I can picture the images so well that it has a home-like feel to it. So, basically, I wanted to ...

Re: Close your eyes
Tim, This is very interesting. It is like a riddle. The first part seems to be about birth, perhaps, then the cake and candles tie in. Your description of the flame as riders is clever quite original. It is a nice image told in so few words. The use of the word blow and knife implies a stabbing as w...

Nash,
I like this very much and think that your ability to capture a feeling is admirable. I don't have anything new to add to the crits above but wanted to say that I find your writing very enjoyable, honest.. so unpretentious. I like it very much.

Here is my suggestion. the ones I took off were not personal to you. I thought this told a nice story. As a teen my brain was aflame with them I walked about deaf from yells of books. For bullies whose brains get tangled with words I pray there is reserved a hell of books. I'd buy them merely for th...

Thanks for your comment on Walt, Sharra. I have been reading SOM again and found myself experiencing a familiarness with it and wondered why. David, your comment is insightful. Yes, it has a similar cadence as the "Books of Wisdom" in the Old Testament. I doubt that it has the depth of pro...
