A very honest poem. I lost the dance down the poem, but that may just be me not being a great reader. I feel I have felt this poem before in my life. I only ever wrote poems to release all the badness and I believe it worked. Writing a poem of how weak you felt and how strong you are then reading it...

Thank you for all of your comments. They make me think, that is what poets do. An artist can finish something and once it is done and no longer their own they may want it back to change it, other artists feel they could do more or less with it to make it better too. On this site, comments are wanted...

Few people share my passion for writing poetry but many people I know make quotes when they are trying to sound clever and are very drunk. Lyrics and poetry are close. A bad singer can make a great song sound bad and a good singer can make a bad song sound great, lyrically. When reading poetry you a...

Thanks. I am wanting to learn things, I am a little slow at learning but that is not a bad thing. I can understand why people leave and people who stay can understand why people stay. Comments will always bring more comments and that is why they are always good. Being mean is one thing, helping a po...

Elizabeth Barry John Malkovich .... King Charles II I hope this is helpful. We can all watch it now and say what we thi...

I am always on the look out for films about writers fact or fiction, most art really. I have seen The Doors, it's a class film. Morrison was amazing person, Val Kilmer played a great role. Anything with Johnny Depp in is worth watching more than once. Looking forward to him playing the part of a poe...

You may have something new going on in your life and it is distracting you. I read through past poems to see how i once felt, that works for me too. What i do, and luckily like to do, is go for a walk with a book and a pen and think about whatever it is that is there. I mostly write myself little po...

I do not have the knowledge to comment on this kind of poem as i have never seen this poetry until coming onto this site so I hope what I say is ok. I have read so many poems on this website and it is true that saying something is good may not be what the poet is looking for but i would not know how...

Waking with leaves
Who turned the light out, I have not seen enough? Where was I hiding and why feel so rough? Don't turn away now, i do not know the way, Where is your voice now, has it nothing to say? Who will tell my father that mother does not know? Weak at the chin as I know I must go, So much is over and I may n...

My daughter is the best part of my life. She is 13 and loves writing poetry and sitting up with me at nights if i am writing when she visits, she emailed me when i was reading your poem. I loved reading your poem, it made me think of what times i have with my daughter and what times we will have whe...

Thank you. I have just sat and read my poetry out to myself over and over again. It seemed to give them life. I have now filled the room with thoughts and i feel a comfort like I've not felt before. I enjoy writing and i will try out any suggestions. I am off to read others poets poems out loud now ...

Not quite one
12.47 a.m. 15th Feb 2005 There is a part of me that will not give, Perhaps the reason why i live, My life has been a shock to me, My penniless life until i was free, I smiled at all the lookers on, They stared and left me one by one, My wounds were not for them to see, My rejected smile waited for m...

This is getting silly. I do not care about being original, i do what i do. If we are all just copying then why bother? I am going to post poems and you can all argue about what is right and wrong. I have my audience, i give them hope and i inspire them, only a few hundred but its enough for me. All ...

Thank you both for your posts. I wrote over 2000 poems before i read the work of another poet so i did not take anothers style, if i was to be a poet then i wanted to write like myself. If i had never heard of a poet or read a poem i would have wrote what i write. Be it good or bad i never try to ma...

Minutes
10.12 p.m. 24th Feb 2004
The minutes are dying, the hours are killing me,
And the days will soon turn me to dust,
The weeks are forgetful, the years lose their minds,
I know time is something i don't trust.

I kind of understand. Is rewording not the author thinking, what shall i change to make this appealing to someone other than myself? I have heard forced rhyming said many times but have never understood. I do not understand forced poetry. I like all that the many minds add and take from anothers poe...
