Re: Streetcake

Well done Mac. I don't much like most of what is usually in Streetcake - Seth knows this, and (I think) attributes it to my fuddyduddyness - but I like your poem. And his, which is typically playful and erudite. Cheers David Thanks, Mac!...congrats. Good to see you there. Thanks, Tristan! Thanks, D...

Very good, Seth, and very well done.

Which poem did they publish?

JJ
It was a poem about Oban Pier on a hot day.

Port Anthology

I have a poem in the new Port anthology from Dunlin Press. A nice looking anthology from an interesting press.
It had a launch down at the Aldeburgh Poetry Festival...which is a bit far for me to travel though.
As you were.

Re: Contrary Head revisited

Since Elph/Geoff have raised doubts about the last line, let me join in. Couldn't you just drop "homophonic" as something that explains what the reader should be left to spot?

Re: Scan (revised)

Greetings, Luke. Did I see some poems by you in the recent edition of Southlight? I am glad Jules identified the subject matter as I had been somewhat at sea initially. But only initially. Despite your last comment about the abstract, I rather liked the new version. I liked the idea of a channel of ...

Re: Elphs Echoes

Hi Elph, This is great... another poem inspired by Norman MacCaig :-) Due to my lack of knowledge concerning most things, I'm unable to make much headway here at the moment. However, I just thought I'd pop in and mention that I like the 'leopard-skin pill-box hat'... and now the knowledgeable membe...

Antcliff's Carrier Cart

I see MacCaig has been mentioned. And his farm poem. And Elph has posted his related poem...an old favourite. And now I see Leaf...welcome Leaf...has posted his own MacC related poem. So it may be time for my own MacC connected poem from an edition of the now defunct Keep Poems Alive. The poem that ...

Re: Losing People (A didactic poem)

Although I don't dislike the (occasional) didactic poem, there is, imho, too little here that is specific. It could fit a load of bad events. Of course it might be said that we should not let any such happen. No doubt. But doesn't a warning lose force if it is against something so very general? &quo...
