Not far off, it's North East Derbyshire, on the edge of the Peak District. And it is always windy round there!

That's lovely! I'm still yet to watch my first proper sunrise/sunset. I'm hoping a handsome man will whisk me away to a romantic spot to see one.

I've just started doing a bit of drawing and painting, but it's all quite crap at the moment! I've been developing a website/e-zine for poetry, prose and art. I was going to choose a written piece and a piece of art or photography to go with it on the page. I think collaborations like that are very ...

I took that London picture completely off the cuff and trying not to let the people realise I was taking it. I just thought their big bright cagools looked funny in the middle of London. Bless tourists.

I was thinking ***Comp Entries***

that most of the photographs so far have been more about landscapes and buildings and not life (which is a lot easier to write about in my opinion.) So I thought I'd include these: A rainy day in London (we've all been there) http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y149/sarahslug/londonetsheffield015.jpg A...

Ohh, woops, that's the one in Tansley, Derbyshire. Sorry my labelling was a bit confusing. It's what's written underneath each link.

I'm glad you like it though, it was lovely growing up in such deserted countryside. Although it could be frustrating at times.

I've been reading 'The Victim' by Saul Bellow recently, and really enjoying it. And last night I read a few short stories by Graham Greene. The Destructers is one of the best short stories I've read i my opinion.

It does read as a very personal poem but I disagree with oranggunung (that took at least three attempts to spell) because I did find it engaging and intriguing. I gathered that it is a parent looking at a child they've found dificult to accept over the years and it's something I think people will be...

My Photographs ***Comp Entry***

This is a wonderful idea, especially for me as I prefer photography to poetry. Hello again by the way, these are my favourite shots: http://www.flickr.com/photos/39261593@N00/518056822/ Taken in Hyde Park, London http://www.flickr.com/photos/39261593@N00/518081797/ Canal in Sheffield http://www.flic...

Brighton Rock is one of my favourite books. I love his style of writing, and think he has a flair and talent to equal the greats. The characters in that novel are timeless and the story is great too.

No Mars Bar for me. I thought the second paragraph could be Elvis Costello - (I Don't Want to go to) Chelsea but I have no clues on the rest.

I was going to ask if you meant Thom Yorke or not and now I feel quite special that I was right, woop. I think the re-draft does sound better although I did like them both. for some reason in the darkness you can see your eyes as TV screens pixelating everything and with the curtains closed kaleidos...

Hmmm, I did enjoy some of the language but I kept getting more and more frustrated that I couldn't work out when people were having conversation and when it was simply thoughts. I need proper speech marks for fucks sake! I'm told it gets better as it goes on and the ending is wonderful, so I'll give...

Hi there, Just a structural thing, I'm not sure about this stanza: Here is a mouse - heart of a lion, controlled by a lion, but one less humble. It's just that rhyming lion with lion jars abit in this sense. It sounds very repetitive. It's so tricky to rhyme the same words together without it lookin...

Hello,

Whilst reading it, the one thing that sprung to mind was that 'I'm too tired' felt a little repetitive. I know that's the message you are emphasising but perhaps you could find another way to portray this.

On the whole I liked it though.

Hello, I like it very much. Especially the flow of the first two stanzas, but I'm not sure if this section: I am not the undulating pride in the bloodstreams of the wind that tickles their warm ears. Just breaks it up a little too much and interrupts the flow. Perhaps you could work it into the prev...
