Re: Homecoming

The Nostoi are the stories of the homecomings from the Trojan War: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nostoi

Homecoming is just fine, I think.

Re: Homecoming

Technically you wouldn't change the prepostion since the same preposition governs the whole series of cluases. You'd either leave it implicit or keep the same one. Repeating about doesn't bother me, nor does Homecoming. Now Nostos is Homecoming in Greek (like Odysseus), if you want ot get fancy. Che...

Hi Caleb,

I appreciate that. Nope, it's not coming from you, don't worry on that front.

I commented on your poem.

Re: Homecoming

Hi Caleb, Yes, I like this poem of yours. It chugs along rather peacefully, telling its tale, all unrolling from that happy opening line. You've got about becoming of in your clauses, you might want to stick to one preposition. I like the title Homecoming better than Lost and Found, which is too dir...

Re: Object Permanence

Hi Caleb,

To me, mother and child play peek-a-boo together. It's likely the child's first game. His participation is somewhat passive.

I'll take a look at Homecoming, though really, I've stopped posting and commenting here beyond a bare minimum for politeness's sake. I do stop in.

Re: That Old Familiar

Yup. I like the abolition of capitals, and the concluding line is very nice. The poem heads in that direction neatly.

Oh - I just caught the pun in the title. i like that quite a bit.

Re: Object Permanence

That sounds like a perfectly good angle for a lampoon. GLad you enjoyed the Berryman.

I've restored the deleted passage in my MS. after all. I find the ending comes out of left field otherwise.

John

Hi Ray,

That's a fine last line. I enjoyed your feminine endings, they seemed a propos.

Hi Ray,

Thank you for stopping by. I'm trying out your version. I'm not sure I could have written my poem had this one not existed: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/ ... -ball-poem
