when I met you it came to my mind - the story of an old hassid who believed that every word he utters brings him closer to death. the year was 1939. september came along with its suddenness sunburnt people were freezing on roadsides. roads were raising clouds of dust and the dust was settling on the...

HORACY
Jak ty do siebie. Taką właśnie zbroję
Miał wtedy, kiedy Norweżczyka pobił:
Tak samo, pomnę, marszczył czoło wtedy,
Kiedy po bitwie zaciętej na lodach
Rozbił tabory Polaków. Rzecz dziwna!

Re: Shakespeare with smilies

Hey Mak - makes a lot of sense, which must be why the country is in such a mess . . . . Is it the twin's fault, or the wind's fault? - that is the question you are not up-to-date. twin's goverment lost the election. now we have a new one, and EURO 2012 with Ukraine. who knows, maybe in the same yea...

Mak, I believe the Germans think that Shakespeare actually sounds better in German. (They would.) How does he sound in Polish?
like a wind, my friend. everything in Polish sounds like a wind.

if that suppose to be a joke, that is a lame joke ;) and if we are joking, here you have the same thing but in Polish (without smile faces): Być albo nie być- oto jest pytanie. Kto postępuje godniej: ten, kto biernie stoi pod gradem zajadłych strzał losu, Czy ten, kto stawia opór morzu nieszczęść I ...

Re: Red Lion Inn, Dunchurch - 5th November 1605

I'd be interested if you could point out the well known metaphors. let's go: "Shadows, like memories" -comparing shadows to memories is as old as the invention of the wheel. "urging moths to sacrifice their wings in candleflame" -moths in the flames; sacrifice, imagination, meta...

thank You very much for helping me. i realy appreciate that. Uh, yeah. But we can't ask for everything, can we? yeah, that cound sounds like t...

Makowski, man (or do you prefer, "The Dude"?) - are you Polish, then? I know a lot of Polish guys, I think there's a tad of a cultural clash on here, your post seems a little obtuse, such are the differences I've experiened in ettiqutte - You might not care, I don't, but perhaps a suggest...

Re: Red Lion Inn, Dunchurch - 5th November 1605

What's the point in writing about anything? Is there a list of subjects that we are forbidden to use in poetry? - I didn't know that. The 'old tale' is an event in British history which is still celebrated every year on November 5th. You don't seem to think it pointless telling us about what happen...
