Thanks,
Kim

- I've got two from the same person.Hurrah! Just remember that my new message box says I have six messages all the time, even though I don't
After letting go of branches and walking through the ape gait, we managed to grasp what hands were really for......
Well - it has been done and I think that was quite painless. Please let me know if there are any problems.
Kim - I'll post the official steps you may need to follow to get rid of your 'new messages'. Read this:
"This was quite a common bug in RC7 where the pm counter would tell users there were a number of new private messages waiting, however the users inbox would be empty. This bug has been fixed in the RC8 release however a number of users have been reporting they are still getting the incorrect private message counter in the header.
Users who are still experiencing this issue should do the following
Click the link (if visible) to release any messages which are on hold.
Send themselves (or get another user to send them) a private message.
In short, the counter will only be fixed if all 'on hold' messages have been released or if the user receives a new private message."
Hopefully that will work. Let me know.
ps - of course I need to get rid of the blue (again), sort out various other colours and stop various buttons overlapping each other.

I can't get the italics to work - nor any of the others come to that. My phantom messages have gone though.

Barrie - are you using the bbcode? Just testing again

Is the 'disable bb code' box ticked at the bottom of your posts? I'll have a look at your user profile as well.

All seems ok here
It's all the codes - unless it's all my brain, I wouldn't be surprised. Each time I click on to a code box, I am informed, on the bottom left of my screen, that there is 'Error on page.'
Mind you, I am using Vista, so maybe that's got something to do with it.
Clueless.

It can't be Vista, Nic - I'm using Windows XP on a different machine now, but still experiencing the same problem.
Still Clueless

Still getting the same 'Error on page' message..... I suppose I can learn to live without code (sigh)...
