The quandry is how to write something about oneself without being too self-deprecating, tedious or generally obnoxious...
My name is Kate.
I'm currently studying to be a veterinary surgeon therefore, in theory, creative writing of any kind is basically the antithesis of my scientifically orientated degree (and life).
However, I don't think I could live without it.
Having read the poetry here, I feel pretty overwhelmed by the obvious talent typing away at keyboards everywhere - nice to be involved in some small sense.

Welcome Kate
Don't be too depreciating, it will leave no room for any of us to outdo you. Good to see another science/biology person on board. I'm sure you'll love it here.
Cheers
Dave

Welcome Kate
I'm a science/zoology person.
This is a great place for learning about poetry; reading writing and criticising.
Hope you enjoy the experience

I was a little embarrassed about being untrained in the company of so many erudite members.
I'm now showing my ignorance with ever increasing confidence.

It's website ends in ".de".
