Hello Haiku

I've never written a haiku, but when in Rome.

A short, sweet hello
to all at The Poets' Grave
pleasure to be here.

Hello! Poetry novice here, though I find my brain seemingly going on a kind of poetry autopilot, spontaneously,
and I have only recently taken to writing a few lines down every now and then, often once I'm in bed and trying to sleep
The posts I've seen have been a good read, to be honest the standard scares me a bit,
but the reviews are all polite and fair, so hopefully I wont get taken apart!
Any tips on how a complete novice with no formal poetry knowledge or experience can review another's work?
Feel a bit cheeky reviewing someone probably much more experienced than I!

Look forward to reading more poems and posting mine!
Peace 8)

Hi Leuma! There are some guidelines on how to respond to poems in the guidelines section at the top of the forum. But you can't go far wrong if you point out the bits you particularly liked, or didn't, or anything that didn't seem clear. One of the best ways to learn more about poetry is to comment on others' work - it helps you see what works and what doesn't.
