Hello folks
Pleased to read welcoming comments below about new people arriving.
I'm very new to poetry though have loved reading and writing prose for many years.
Somehow, poetry managed to evade me all this time.
In the last three months though, I've bought quite a few poetry books, have attended poetry readings and have started a number of poems myself. The novels remain on the shelf untouched. The poetry books are by the side of the bed, bent, in a jumbled mess and itching to be read further each night.
Anyhow, consequently I know very little about poetry. I've clicked on the glossary but its huge and frightening. I will set apart time to go through it as I do want to learn more.
Forgive me if my reviews seem naive and rather amateur but I plan to stay on here and learn from everyone else.
I love writing and reading poetry and am very excited to find this site.
Right then. I'm off to review a few and then post one of mine. Say what you like about my poem(s) I'm thick skinned
Thanks
Richard

Welcome aboard Richard.

Don't worry about being inexperienced, this place is great for that. A very honest crowd. And crits are just opinions, so yours are just as valid as anyone elses.
I've only been here a short while myself, and have found it to be a great little community. So hope you like it here too.

Thanks for the early crit on my poem, look forward to seeing yours in due course.

Hello Richard

Reading your comments posted so far, I think you have nothing to fear about your own impressions of others' writing.

Get to it! And I'm online at the mo so I'll have a read if you post anything.

Cheers

Ahhhhh - fresh blood.

Good. Listen to them - children of the night. What music they make.

Hi Richard. Welcome.

Welcome on board Richard

We were all new once - jump right in with your crits. Many underestimate how the process of critting can help your own writing.

Look forward to reading your stuff.
