Why has the Puzzled thread been locked?
I'm also puzzled why the Hands Down thread has been locked.
Locking active threads seems rather contradictory on a "Creative Writing Workshop and Arts Discussion" forum.

I answered why the Hands Down thread had been locked on the first Puzzled thread. Don't think there's much more to say.
I think you've rather answered your own question - 'Creative Writing Workshop and Arts Discussion', not a political discussion forum. Realistically, those who hold strong views are unlikely to convince anyone to change their own strong views, and the chances of it getting acrimonious are very high. There are many other places for such discussions if they interest you - I'd rather we stayed harmonious here and concentrated on the poetry.

Rosencrantz: What are you playing at? Guildenstern: Words. Words. They're all we have to go on.

I also on occasion disappear, except in my case it is more a matter of neglect than policy...David wrote:All other considerations aside - and with goodwill to all men (in the genderless sense) - I do hope Ray / penguin hasn't shuffled off for good. I would miss him.
I think I'm right in saying he's disappeared before and has always returned after an interlude.
Did you know that an "interim" is the period of time between popes?

I think I'm right in saying he's disappeared before and has always returned after an interlude. You are right, Ian.
Did you know that an "interim" is the period of time between popes? Are you right, Ian? I frankly disbelieve this (but I'm sneakingly sure you're right). I shall go and look it up.

Delighted to read he might be back. I hope he does return, after a rest, to carry on as usual.
