Some real rippers there Ian.
Sushi yes but it has to be high-quality. But yes. Have you tried ume-shiso, the sour plum sauce? You put it in a roll. I'm a devotee of barbecued eel too. And yellowtail.
Roast pork with crackling. Yes.
Stuffing. YES. The source of some discord in my marriage.
Scones, I haven't had one since I left blighty. Just butter for me. Divine.
Bacon butty YES. HP sauce - sorry. I want to like it though. Ketchup for me.
Ripe tomatoes can be incomparable. With a good cheese.
Rarebit, yes, but exceptionally hard to perfect.

That's an interesting list, WT. Very healthy, as you say, and a good mix of flavours. I'd want a vegetable or two in there, maybe in place of the bananas or the chicken. Appropriate that lamb and feta rub shoulders: few better pairings in life. Cashews (sounds just like a sneeze) are a fine nut but my favourite nut is the walnut.
What kind of berries float your boat?

There's always a salad dish with the grilled chicken; or, red cabbage, red onions and lettuce with a tuna sandwich; or, you can add whatever vegetables you like to this.k-j wrote:That's an interesting list, WT. I also love the brain-resembling walnuts, which actually do boost brain health. Another thing I enjoy is adding some fried (peeled and shredded) almonds, peanuts and/or cashews - with a sprinkle of chopped fresh parsley - to rice dishes.
I'm a fan of all berries. I mostly buy strawberries since they are the cheapest.

Crickey, you're posh.k-j wrote:Salivating over steak tartare tonight with a raw egg, something bready and crispy and a red blend.
The other night I invented the sausage roll sandwich:
2 doorstep slices of white bread
hot sausage rolls to fill
deli style coleslaw
tomato ketchup
strong mustard
wisteria

While I can't endorse the nutrition of that, it does feel like a kind of twisted geniusCrayon wrote:Crickey, you're posh.k-j wrote:Salivating over steak tartare tonight with a raw egg, something bready and crispy and a red blend.

I'm very fond of the classic fish-finger sandwich, either trad with ketchup, or "gourmet" with tartar sauce...
