Is he real, or is he just another holographic anagram like Lembit Opik?
Mark Obacaba?
Carob Akabam?
It's a toughie
The solution is at george.www.bush.com
The prize is another Republican dong in the WHITEhouse because Middle America won't vote for a black man
or a woman

I can just see the Republican backed newspapers having a field day with his name if he's selected to run. The GOP dirty diggers will uncover some minor misdemeanors (or invent them) and the headlines will be - OBAMA'S SIN LADEN. Thus linking him forever with the well known terrorist (with whose family the Bushes have been close friends and business associates for years).

You would be surprised about middle America--I would vote for a black man or a woman. Unfortunately, I don't really like either of the candidates--Obama or Hilary. The problem is that I really don't like McCain either. Sigh. I will have to write in "Geoff Twoleftfeet" on the ballot!

OBAMA'S SIN LADEN
Indeed, not only is he black, he sounds like Osama, not a fooking chance.
Democrat or Republican?
Labour or Conservative?
Coca Cola or Pepsi Cola?
Hows about Dr Pepper - Lib Dems, we must break the two party system, give em a chance to fuck it up. I vote for em each time, last time I looked, their policies included a return to a free or grant based University system, and their tax policies for the self employed were rather tempting.
On another note, the education education education rally seems to be dying its death and the Gov are finally realising the dumbing down of certain Unis' ain't working, shit where are our tradesmen?
Idiots.

OBAMA SIN LADEN!!??!! Obama whamma ding dong!!
He seems to have come from nowhere - which strengthens my suspicion that he is a hologram.
Also I still don't think that a black candidate can win.
Otherwise Colin Powell would be running, surely? - although he would be heavily disadvantaged by his unfortunate tendency to be good at what he does.
Having said that I looked him up on Wiki:
A moderate Republican, Powell is well known for his willingness to support liberal or centrist causes. He is pro-choice regarding abortion,[24] in support of affirmative action, and in favor of "reasonable" gun control...
Powell was the subject of controversy in 2004 when, in a conversation with British Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, he reportedly referred to neocons within the Bush administration as "fucking crazies".
OK - so I've answered my own question. (btw Kim - I never meant to imply your neck is red )
I think I agree with Kris - we need proportional representation (then again it will probably mean that the
biggest dick gets in as usual)

Well, I agree with the notion that neither Hillary nor Obama have a strong chance in obtaining the presidency. Obama seems like a good guy though, where as Hillary comes off rather phony to me. To be honest, it is tough to get a feeling for who would be best for this country. If it had to be a republican, McCain seems like he'd cause less damage. Huckabee has a good sense of humor and comes across genuinely but might be too religified. Fuck, we'll see. For many here, who can't stomach the bullshit of politics, there is a good website called http://www.onegoodmove.com that does a good job at pointing out the frequent everyday obsurdities. There is a video on the site, called Pep Ralley, that is worth checking out, if the campaigns hadn't offered enough colorful humor already. In addition, the FOX news documentary on George Bush is one hell of a tragic comedy.

Butt-crack Slammer seems alright to me, but I know almost nothing about the climate on the other side of the pond.
Get the impression though that the only hope would be to put some altruistic nutter in there. No-one politically inclined, once they get power, makes an effort to reduce it and I guess we'd all like to see a little less of US sponsored anarchy about the place.
So, I guess regardless of whether it's her, him or the same again that we're going to get something of the same again, except for sorting out the obvious unacceptable relatives which I assume the population (not to mention the BUSINESS contingent over in the states) on the whole aren't happy about, like Guantanamo, allbeit the personal experiences of McCain lend that policy extra weight.
Geoff - good point about Powell, very good point, Sir. I guess you're right - unless it's as simple as he cannot be arsaed with it, who knows.
Are any of the candidates talking about SERIOUSLY overhauling the defence budget at all? Routing those huge funds into social services to keep the Keynesian thing ticking over, rather than the pentagon . . . I've only heard pledges like that from independants . . . .

I'm sick of it, sick of it all. I know I'm right and I don't give a shit!
I don't like my choices this election cycle either.
I agree that Colin Powell would have been a better Republican answer to this. Especially in this election, where the Iraq War is still a question. But his ties to Bush would haunt him, he wouldn't be impossible to beat. Notice McCain is doing all he can to distance himself from Bush (except, of course, actually putting any real distance there...by disagreeing with Bush's war strategy).
As an actual resident of "Middle America" (if by this we mean either middle-class America or the Midwest) I would have to agree with Kim - I think some may be surprised. Obama's name is only an issue with the most obnoxious of conservatives who would never think of voting for him anyway. Most people really don't throw race out as an issue, and those who do are (in my opinion) canceled-out by those who would vote for Obama simply because he is black.
Whether race will play a big factor - I don't know if anyone will know the true answer to that until the campaign plays out and the votes are counted. But Obama has done well in many Midwestern state primaries - Illinois, Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kansas, Colorado - and is the lead fund-raiser (over everyone, including Republican candidates) in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Oregon, Nebraska, Kentucky and Illlinois. Consider who his current political enemies are and it becomes clear why there are naysayers. He has a better chance in the general election than FOX news or the Clintons would like us to believe.
The loudness of the American political system coupled with the fact that this primary race has been going on since the beginning of time has me tired out though.

There's only one explanation for this. To quote someone from another forum:
Have it be noted he didn't even spell Obama's name right >__>

I've heard the Anti-Christ thing relating to Obama, too. Bigots and paranoid fundamentalists, it seems, are everywhere. Well, my neck is red (shoulders and back, too, thanks to yesterday) and I live in the second Bible belt of America, and you'd be amazed (apparently) at how many people are going to vote Democrat, just because they're fed up with the fat cats. Whether Obama turns out to be just another fat cat in disguise, Satan, or a genuine maverick and visionary, I think he'll win simply because he's not old, white and Republican.
Time will tell.
Cheers,
Keith

Thank God...the man will have his hands full for sure; to repair the last 8 years of global abuse. It's a good thing to have someone in this county's highest ranked position who is intelligent, cool headed, rational, and who will work to build relations with other countries instead of alienating them and watching them burn.

It's said this is written by obama. What do you guys think?
Underground
Under water grottos, caverns
Filled with apes
That eat figs.
Stepping on the figs
That the apes
Eat, they crunch.
The apes howl, bare
Their fangs, dance,
Tumble in the
Rushing water,
Musty, wet pelts
Glistening in the blue.

We should post it in the beginners section under a psuedonym (no pun intended psued) and see what response we get.
Definitely in the beginners section. I don't think it's very good do you?...
Twice this week I have heard the same thing: "Why would anyone want that job??!!"
Cheers,
Kim

LOL! So true--spread the wealth (never more vile words to a capitalist!). I think the man is an eloquent speaker with a high level of intelligence but I don't know if he will be able to really help our country like all is promised. They all make great promises, don't they?Obama: Change, change , change, change, blah blah..
