Callum,of course Rimbaud never minced words where crap poetry was concerned,he never minced words on many issues. He was extremely intolerant of others and a racist to boot. In short, not nice!

Here here.David wrote: As for the embryonic poems, this is a workshop is it not? It's not a showcase.
I get more help here with everyone's crits, than I would if I was simply being shouted down by disproving poetry snobs on some hyper-serious-poetry-death-board.
I'm grateful that there is a place like PG workshop that does that.

I hope I'm not too late to state an opinion.
An irony here, I feel, is that both Nige and Callum didn't seem to take too well to criticism of their work. They felt others didn't "get it". This is a shame, and it's a shame they've left (but more especially that Epi seems to have left too, which is a far bigger loss, as I think he was a very decent guy and a very talented poet).
Anyway, as for PG's quality: oh sure sometimes the crits are a bit crap (mine especially), but every critter also produces numerous good thoughts and critiques. I've had some gentle but very firm criticism on my poems. I haven't agreed with it all, and that's my prerogative, but it'd be dishonest to say I hadn't received it.

I agree, Owen. Ah well. Maybe he'll come back some time. I, for one, will keep a candle burning in the window for him.OwenEdwards wrote:This is a shame, and it's a shame they've left (but more especially that Epi seems to have left too, which is a far bigger loss, as I think he was a very decent guy and a very talented poet).
