I visited John Clare's grave a few weeks back (we were in the area, it wasn't like a pilgrimage or anything). His has carved into the stone "A poet is born not made" and, quite fittingly, the final letter "e" has faded a little.

I took a group of cherubs to St Mary's Church in Bletchley today. During the course of our tour around the church (which is 12th century in origin), we saw an excellent alabaster effigy of Richard, Lord Grey de Wilton (d. 1442) -
Our man can also be seen on the left hand side of the next picture - tucked away behind the Rector, a set of chairs and a drum kit!
I'm off there again tomorrow with our Year 6 monkeys. Wahey!
