he's a bit of a legend - i particularly like "be nice to your turkeys this christmas". though to be fair he might be seen by some as a bit lightweight.

BENJAMIN ZEPHANIAH
Vegan Steven
(from 'A Little Book of Vegan Poems')

There was a young vegan
Called Steven,
Who just would not kill for no reason,
This kid would not eat
No cheese or no meat
And he hated the foxhunting season.

Eat Your Words
(from 'A little Book of Vegan Poems')

"I am a veggie table
A table made of veg,
There’s so much fruit upon me
All living on the edge,
Life is hard
But so are plates
And tea can be quite hot,
And vegetarian poets
Make me nervous quite a lot."

Vegan Steven's Vegan Clothes
(from 'A little Book of Vegan Poems')

"Remember that vegan called Steven
Yes he would not kill for no reason,
Well I saw him today
Wearing nothing I say
But some cabbage leaves
With a few peas on."

yeah, I can see why people might see him as a bit of a light weight although he has some intresting views on politics, racism for example. I think hes great because he is not afraid to be free, childlike and fun. :D

Glad he refused the OBE.Someone needed to. He's got a new album out - 'NAKED.' Its a bit of a departure from the dub stuff but nice.

"My ears have been battered and burned and I have just learned that I've been listening to the wrong radio station.
My eyes have been blind, my mind brutalised by lies.I have been listening to the wrong radio station."
