Hello Everyone,
First of all I'm sorry if this has been discussed before and decided against, but I was wondering if anyone had ever considered the possibility of having a challenge/competition once a month with a suggested theme or form for a poem.
I just thought it would be interesting to see the different ways in which regular posters/poets approached the same topic. It might also act as inspiration for people.
I know other sites sometimes do this kind of thing and if people would rather not go down that route I understand. I just think that the difference here would be that because of the relatively small number of users, you can get more of a feel for how people write. Maybe even Cam could select a regular poster to submit a piece of work anonymously just to see if others could recognise the poet by the poem.
Again just ideas to pick up the mood a bit on the boards after the recent blockings lockings and disputes.

The competetions would be cool. It'd be good to stretch them out though...one every once in a while, otherwise they might get old. As for this idea:

Sorry Bombadil, it was just a thought. Maybe as a one off once or twice a a year rather than once a month.

This seems to have got side-tracked by the life cycle of the Patagonian Armadillo.
How about I bung in a few writing excercise guidelines such as:
"At last you meet them; they are not what you expected"
or
"Imagine a perfect place. The situation is ruined. The situation is retrieved"
I used these to good effect on the inmates of HMP Norwich. Probably be alright for you old lags.
We need a decision. (I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure).
