At the moment i have reached the stage where i am learning Phonology, and phonetics..Ie Phonetic Alphabet.. Also micro pauses paused time in seconds eg..(1.0) (.).... // // Also overlapping speech amd unfinished words etc...
Ok this being said,i understand those i am cofident of that..Here is the tricky part for me,the problem i can-not seem to // GRasp are these examples. /ei/ /and/ di:/.. One of my questions i have to answer is to read the texts, then examine the linguistic features which characterise the varieties and discuss any interesting points about the way in which they are employed??
I can't seem to grasp on how to phonet-acally decipher words such as BREAD..WET..AND...what ever apparantly each word has a phonetic symbol to represent the word...I think maybe i will go to the library and hire a book out, sort of a crash phonetic course LOL...Unless someone has a easy way of explaining it to me,help appreciated folks...Many thanks for listening to my //MOANIng...Cheers Tom...
