Of DNA

What is in my head; this germ of genius
that rises from the masses, unique and deeply welling.
From generations gone and yet still here.
Perpetuating threads and thoughts,
all telling of old genes' intrinsic measure.

Each gem, each treasure I will savour.
And as the light bursts through with vigour and soul,
so this incisive blossom from deep within,
each glial synapse, has produced
another vision. A lonely ornate treasure.

No one can reach or better contemplate
these blinding acts of insight. A mental revelation,
a pulse that sees the source behind the veil
and blindingly reveals a purpose.
A reason so simple and unremittingly clear.

No warnings given, no rhyme nor pattern.
These thoughts have life whenever takes their whim
and pass to me an intimate and cloudless profusion
of intricate deduction and more.
My inheritance, this brain, I hold so dear.

I like this, particularly like how you hark to the past...predeterminism, free will, history as now...all legitimate topics which this poem inspires us to think about..gbn
