I picture a fat old oriental man
with a foo-manchu and a drink in hand
daydreaming of soft butterfly flaps,
eyes shifting, slitting, pontificating, perhaps!
Chuang-tze, the butterfly dreams of you!
a fat old butterfly with a foo-manchu.

Gidday Mate

Nice idea. Short and simple. Thought maybe the metre of lines 3 & 4 could be easier but maybe that is the (butterfly) effect you were trying to achieve.

Did you mean "drink in hand"?

Overall a good read

Cheers

:D :D :D

Thank you pseud

Nice image - fat old butterflies :)

PS. do butterflies dream of electric sheep, or do they just wait in silence for the hurricane to arrive, and for the trees to fall?

Nice picture Caleb. If I was an artist I'd try to draw it. I can see the face  .

Mick.

Minim - What's the electric sheep thing?

Jester, I apologise, I have a rather odd sense of humour. :)

The electric sheep thing is from 'Do androids dream of electric sheep'. This was a book, that was turned into the film, Blade Runner.

It is a bit of a paradox, as androids are robots, so do robots actually dream? And if they did dream, what would they dream of?

Anyway, I was playing around and mixed the, butterfly flapping its wings causing a hurricane on the other side of the world, and the if a tree falls and noone is there to hear it, did it really fall.

:D

I will try and control myself better in future, as this site seems rather serious

Kozmikdave- thank you, yes those typos get in the way all the time.

Minim- I got it. (This site? Serious? ha! Maybe lately but that is not the aim...)

Jester - I can see the face too, it's what makes me crack up. Almost anime, though that would be Japanese, whild mr. Tze was Chinese.

(sorry to witter on your string, Caleb)

Minim.....please don't be serious :( - it's bad for your health!

I enjoyed the explanation. It's not you that's at fault - it's just that I never read a book 'til I was past forty (to my shame, but also to the shame of the education system!)

I've found it too serious on here sometimes, but most of the guys on here have a well-developed sense of humour - I lol whilst the family are trying to watch TV.

Enjoy yourself.

Mick.

If you doubt the hilarity, just wait til Kris or Keith get genuinely angry. Or Arco finds someone to argue with about meter.

feel free to sabotage, all that will be said has been.

My poem is as vulnerable as a broken down apple cart in Sherwood Forest.

Soft butterfly flaps,
- and the sound of one wing clapping.
- I'll look into it :)

Cat flaps are too loud to look into, though :)
