Soaring

In the beginning a neon light sparked
in the ebony sky.
We aimed for the plough
but found Jupiter and mars.
With arms entwined we sailed galactic waves
and danced beneath meteor rain.

In time we trudged up hill and down vale
on terrestrial ground.
We searched twinkling trails
but found celestial dust.
With hope to hitch we sought a moonbeam
to surf stars and soar once again.

Ah, mans obsession with the stars, such an enigmatic and stirring subject. You captured a certain sense of awe here. I love the idea of travelling the heavens with someone you love, imagine if it were literally possible to board a star ship and venture of round the universe with the person closest to you, amazing idea. Top stuff,

Leigh

Hi,

I got the sensation of flying while reading this so you have done an excellent job of conveying that floating feeling.
It was a very pleasant little trip.
