Vermilion

Twisted red wool
loosely wraps around my fingers
as the head of my hook
is pushed into tight holes
easing them larger. I reach for
another piece of yarn
to bring through the loop
and repeat the rhythm...

but your chair is empty,
your pattern's changed
and I can't find our red thread.

Nice piece.
I loved the image of lifes threads, and what i perceved as crocheting a shared life together, only to run out of wool.
Deep and meanigfull and I enjoyed it.

Hi Gazelle,

I really like it, the poignancy is well expressed in the seemingly quiet words. The image of red thread is very symbolic of the relationship.
I can't find anything to crit, but think the poem is cleanly written. A touching piece.

All the best,

Lake

A methaphor for a relationship brealing down or perhaps a someone is trying to knit themsleves as kabbalah bracelet only to find their is no thread left?

A religious methaphor?

Either way, a good succient read that poses more questions then answers.

I thought s1 l3 good be perhaps 'into holes of oneness' the tight, 'holes don't fit'? It has nice vibrations to it.

The holes meaning an opening outward of course which is a within of course.

This work is alright it has a hungry energy wanting to devour me

enjoyed

Wow, I really like that it is spot on for me, especially these two lines:

"but your chair is empty,
your pattern's changed"

Life changes its pattern everyday in reality, and sometimes leaves you empty.
Thankyou.
Ian.
