High Water
The river was busy today, confident,
And swollen with pride,
Flowing passionately, without restraint,
Dictating his own journey,
Ignoring the suggested boundaries of design,
Mutinous, defiant, and ignorant,
To the devastation and suffering,
Of the takers.
Ultimately, slave to no man.
And the puddle in the road, grinned mischievously....
Gathering strength.
The loch sat regally, with wisdom,
Consciously disregarding the tempest.
Unperturbed, she has seen it all before.
Calm and capable,
She stares knowingly toward heaven,
Reminiscing her own, tumultuous, glacial birth.
Her voluptuous, velvet depths,
Justly command,
And swirling misty sighs gather in readiness,
Change is coming,
Divine reclamation.
And the puddle laughed hysterically,
As the road was closed!!

Hello Firefly
I think this has some nice sequences. I especially like the first half of s1, and
On the downside, I think the piece has a slightly overblown, portentous feel to it – but that might be inevitable when attempting to sustain the pathetic fallacy in this way.
cheers

(...though I’m not sure about the use of the participle “reminiscing” without a preposition, it sounds odd to me. Reminiscing on, perhaps?).Reminiscing her own, tumultuous, glacial birth.
