faded curtains
immersed in soft reveries --
a song elopes

hackneyed bricks
kissed by newborn gleam --
skylarks taste dawn

**

slender bare boughs
script winter tales
over grim facade

Aru,

Hmmm. I really liked the title, it drew me in right away. I wanted to know the connection between these things.
I am still not sure what it is though. I like the last section best. I didn't like the "newborn" word as I pictured a screaming baby, lol and sort of spoiled the mood for me.

I would love to hear more about idea behind these three things and their connection.

Warmly,
Suzanne

This is great, Aru. Fantastic title, but I couldn't quite see the connection either. Snow and winter is obvious, lemon for the yellow sunlight of dawn, I thought?? But ebony I didn't get at all. By the way, do you ever post in the experienced poets section?

Thanks to both of you - about the "ebony, lemon, snow" :
The play of colors in a wintry dawn. Ebony of darkness, lemon of the "newborn" sun, and the snow.

Is not the new sun - a screeching baby?
Smiles. No change from my side. :D

I like the way you're able to interpret your images. "Skylarks taste dawn" is nice.

Enjoyed the scenes here somehow it reminds me of a Turner painting with its moody brewing scene unfolding before
rolliing clouds and hills. The skylark ascends to bless the new day born with a chorus of light

Nice piece with strong images
