Depressions

Seems I’m being summoned
to go sympathise with the windfalls.
I can only imagine purple paper
is tissue like. The discolouration
showing over my bone
does well to reassure I’m not mistaken.

It reads like death seems to be ones only reward in life. I concur as we are all dying to live a lil!

depressions are the sour cloth we rap ourselves in

the doom stick of hunger scratch your bone,

the extravagance of hunger, welds with the extravagance of wealth;

very nice read, tool

Interesting. I'd have thought, rhythmically, "like tissue" would be better, "serves" rather than "does well". I like the opening line, not so keen on "to go sympathise" -you could lose "go" and still have the alliteration.
I'm out of faith and in my cups
I contemplate such bitter stuff.

Enjoyed the image of fall. I admire the way you've drawn a parallel with that of death. The title seems perfect. Thanks.

I have suffered from depression myself some years ago, and this sums it up how I felt, thankyou.

Thanx Guys

I appreciate the varying responses to my poem very much......It's very interesting to learn how my perception of the lines as the author
can evoke a range of aspects upon their delivery to a reader. Ray, I take on board your suggestions and will consider before I tweak......
My reasoning being I tend to write my natural voice/wording whilst trying not to convolute things too much as I'm a bit of a gossip once I get started...

Thanx everso....

In s2 I would of thought 'where the wind falls" just me though.

And then perhaps....'I can only imagine my purple tears on paper; falling
into tissues' it is just the way I'm feeling her though hope you don't mind; it is
an honest read.

Depression is an awful thing I do hope you find happiness in some way
as it seems to me you are a genuine person

All artists i find, suffer with these awfull lows but they help us with our feelings and without them we wouldn't be on this site :)
Sad words and thoughts but i liked it, (gave me an excuse to rattle on anyway)

"One can't complain. I have my friends. Someone spoke to me only yesterday."

"Eeyore"
From Winnie the Pooh by A. A. Milne

Even Childrens books delve into depression...

"Smeared black ink
My palms are sweaty
I‘m staring at the floor at your feet
Wondering what buried underneath"

my own experiences

You will be ok, yes?

To suffer is to live. We write as poets and it hurts.........it does.

But you and all are never ever alone.

There are so many stars in space we are not alone.
