Why is it that when I speak,
People turn the other cheek,
Am I such a crashing bore,
Easier to just ignore.

I feel so terribly confused,
And quite peculiarly amused.

I’m sure I’ll have the last laugh here,
To me it’s absolutely clear…….

That Beige is all the rage this year!!!

Sorry if i've been a bit beige/vague of late but i think everyone has, people have been busy with xmas and new year festive stuff, relatives, winter blues and the dreaded back to work feeling, now i've seen your poem, read it and thought it was funny and yes, mabe apt, your post will now come back up to the top for others to see........i think

Beige a dull shade not even a colour, nor honey toned like fawn, not even plain brown like shit, a bit shaded and worn is beige......back to the top again

This is a nice one, firefly. Cheerful rhyming, and I like your last line a lot.

You might want to have a look at the rhythm of it. It doesn't rock along quite as easily as it could, but you're not far off. Read it aloud to yourself. That always helps.

Beige is nothing a non anything............it hurts me and violets are old perfume....

Thankyou all for your comments. I was feeling very 'beige' when I wrote this - sometimes people just will not listen to what you have to say!

Beige is so damned insignificant and bland, a pseudo-colour. It's just great when prople make you feel THAT good, (not!)
