I Hypothesize a New and Better Poem Here by Someone Else
For a person born with the gift of the gab,
this afternoon would hold no mystery.
They’d happily lay out the intricate
Etch-a-Sketch of branches in the woods
where my yard ends, and the relentless hi
some reckless bird is offering, at – oh,
let’s call it 5 p.m. They’d add some thought
relating to the local time. They might
put in a trope or two to grace their verse.
I can’t say what form might appeal to them
to frame the piece. But I would guess they’d end
with a crisp title of some sort, that made
me want to think – or smile – or start to curse.

Hi Phil, hi Morph,
Phil - Glad you enjoyed this! I did enjoy coming up with the title, at which point the poem mostly wrote itself. The bird's relentless hi was also a fave part for me.
Morph - I like your alternative title!
Glad you enjoyed the piece.
Cheers all,
John
