is just a full moon,
named after a wild flower
in America.
It slips through the gap
in the curtains, anyway,
the nights currency,
silver, to our eyes.
But I might be colour blind,
and it might be pink.
This is how money is spent.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying, Tony, but I sure like this poem. It speaks to me somehow that I haven't figured out. I'm naturally dense, as I have said before, but I'll keep reading it.
Signature info:
If you don't like the black theme, it is easy to switch to a lighter color. Just ask me how.
If I don't critique your poem, it is probably because I don't understand it.

Thanks John, Caleb

Counting the beats,
Counting the slow heart beats,
The bleeding to death of time in slow heart beats,
Wakeful they lie.

I agree, poetry doesn't have to mean a thing. Words on the other hand need meanings for me if they are to be words. Here's Google:
Why are carnations called pinks?
Other sources say that the word pink comes from the "pinked" or jagged edge of the petals, as though cut by pinking shears. In either case, it appears the idea of "pink" as a color did not occur until much later, for the color was named for the flowers rather than the other way around.
Cheers,
John

Poetry doesn't have to be about meaning - I couldn't agree more.
Words do, and that's the beauty of them. Ask Seamus Heaney.
Oh hey - feel free to argue words don't have to be about meaning, Ton. You've not made that argument yet.
Cheers,
John
