The Lake House

I wrote this poem after watching the film Lake House, it moved me and inspired me in the directions it took me into,
here is a quote from the film i thought rather meaningful.

Kate: I sometimes feel as if I'm invisible, as if no one can see me at all. I never felt that way when I lived at the Lake House.

The Lake House.

I’m falling for words upon the pages, light little
laughter I imagine’ problems with no true ends--
but a shoulder, “What do you look like” it never
occurred to me to think; angels don’t need faces
to be beautiful’ just a pure heart and a questioning
mind.

Persuasion…I was never one to read’ like falling leafs
of old, even old love stories can be retold’ in and out of
life—experiences claiming there is always time for a second
chance, tell me are you happy? And yes it did snow thanks
for the scarf “Can this really be happening?”

Lets take a walk through the city together’ I’ll show you
my world—a tour of the past within the past’ your future
echoes of ages passing, and secretly I want to take this walk
together, but I know I’ll have to wait and let time test me.

Remember when you had long hair, and a worry on your shoulders
as the scenes drowned you in its unhappiness—falling flakes of realism
teach me the meanings of things I do not understand’ you look surprised?
I’m usually shy’ yet you draw me towards you—I never knew how to dance
but somehow you just showed me how, and it all came together’ like us.

Can dreams come true; can love stand the test of time?
Where will you be in the future? What will I be when I get there?
I lie in the shadows focused on you and this is where my mind will
stay wanting to be with the woman I’ve shared my life with—a shoulder,
a friend, a persuasion of the heart’ I’m falling for words.

A good first post, I think. Thoughtful and reflective. Some strange things happening with apostrophes - are you mistaking them for commas at all?

Quite a bit here, too much to take in on first reading, but nice work.

Cheers

"Remember when you had long hair, and a worry on your shoulders
as the scenes drowned you in its unhappiness" - loved these lines.

Your curious usage of apostrophes distracts a bit, otherwise it's a good reflective poem.
