Audio Feature Discussion
Oh, these are great.
Stuart, you really do lift the poem from the page and give it so much more meaning. A very calm and comfortable voice. I realise that a key element to reading is to slow down.. I must try that out next time.
Do you take requests? I’d love to hear Bocca di Laparu and The Corsican Wife.
Mick, though I’m hearing it slightly muffled this end, it doesn’t damage the listening. I do believe this is the natural voice of a storyteller.. another reading that lifts the poem from the page and perfectly. I was just thinking how good it would be to have an audio CD with ALL (cough cough) the PG member’s recordings on… what a thought!
and Kris, you surprise me.
I was thinking of just going along to a few more open mic sessions, then drinking a bottle (or two) and throwing myself at the stage. What do you think? .. of course, there's always the disguise option-- a red curly wig and sunglasses!
Lia
p.s. where are all the women hiding?

"Are you having a laugh, is she having a laugh?"
Yeh could work.
"Let's play Numberwang!"
Sorry caught up in inane comedy catchphrases.

Lia - get on that stage! They're ok at the Hobbit, really they are!
Requests eh? Nothing too kinky ;o. I will be giving the rest of the Corsican Life a go soon...
Numberwang rules! I wish I could go on it.
Stu
PS Nicki thanx for posting Vizzavona.

haha.. let me think on that one.
But yeah, the Hobbit seems ok, though I've only been once. Their open mic is every Thursday. Maybe I will give it a try, but I'm gonna go a few more times first!
Can't wait to hear the rest of Corsican Life.
Look 4wd to it

Barrie, I didn't realise these were here already! I had a feeling you'd be terrific at this audio thing.. very comfortable, just like talking. I can't pick a favourite (though I tried), but glad you made a recording of Red Lion Inn as well.
I'm jealous of this northern/Lancs type accent that some of you have.
And speaking of accents.. I liked the one you tried on for size, A.S., in A Sunday's Drive!-- it brought a smile, and a fine poem too.
I'm still thinking we need some women in here to set the balance though.
