Lots of colours mixed for this one and several techniques employed to get to the final result. Experimental, if I'm honest.

Last one for a while. Please reduce the image to 50%.

hi JJ

Like the illuminations on the path, the leaves to the left, not sure how the sun comes through bark or at least that is the effect?

Thanks for looking in, mac. Appreciated as always. This is one of my largest paintings to date. Only painted one that is bigger.

The basic palette was my homemade mixed black :) , phthalo blue, Prussian blue, crimson, deep red, orange, (mixed), burnt sienna, titanium white, lemon yellow, primary yellow, yellow ochre, burnt umber and sap green, plus many mixed derivatives for tonal differences. It was a hoot experimenting.

Here's a link to highlight how the dazzling sun obliterates even the most stubborn of images. Sometimes we can only detect an impression.

Hi JJ.
I downloaded this so I could see it in all its glory.
I LOVE IT.
The trees and bushes are fab but for me, the highlight on the pathway
and the shafts of sunlight bursting through made me gasp.
Honestly, I am so impressed.
As you know, i dabble a little myself
and if I could produce something like this I would be well chuffed. :)
Well done.
:D
No nits from me.

Wow, Pauline!

Thank you very much for the more than generous words; I'm tickled pink that you liked this one.
