I hope you got to see Spain's winner! A lovely move, the ball was slipped into the penalty area, Iniesta clearly onside brought it deftly under control and rifled it into the far corner past the hapless Dutch keeper. ONE NIL!!

Lose the middle section and you've got a great poem....indeed a poem of two halves rather like the World Cup final. An attritional first stanza, some cynical challenges, then the change of mood, the sublime passing movements between the tender imagery, the slow build up and that devastating finish.

The more I think about it, given the way you describe her personality, the more I can see why she chose to leave at half time! :wink:

Thanks coffeedodger. I have actually taken out the middle bit. I saw most of the match, your description makes it sound more exciting than it was.

I contemplate such bitter stuff.
