If I can persuade you
[tab][/tab]to go to bed early,
I will. I see your head

nodding off to the TV.
[tab][/tab]Might gently touch,
suggest it's bedtime

and by the time you
[tab][/tab]realise that it isn't,
with one kiss, it will be.
We fray into the future, rarely wrought
Save in the tapestries of afterthought.

Lovely. Wouldn't change a word. The reveal at the end is very well done.

Cute poem, Seth. However, it's worth remembering, "The best laid plans o' mice an' men, gang aft agley".
If that doesn't help how about, "You can lead a horse to water but can not make it drink".
Perhaps, "One volunteer is worth than ten pressed men".

Best

That must be a pg first! Nicely done, Seth.
Rosencrantz: What are you playing at? Guildenstern: Words. Words. They're all we have to go on.

Well nearly Ros. We made the mistake of scrolling down to JJ's comments and ended up watching Question Time. Still a good poem though.

I enjoyed it until the final line, which is a bit too Mills and Boon for my liking. If it were mine - and let's be thankful it isn't - I'd go for with one wink instead of with one kiss. I'd probably call it Cunning Plan, too.
I'm out of faith and in my cups
I contemplate such bitter stuff.
