I've taken to posting a few poems on here https://poetrycircle.com/
And the quality and the feedback and the general vibe is nothing compared to this place. I'm genuinely sad about our demise, it deserves so much more. I can't put my finger on why it has not thrived? Or at the very least survived. We have dwindled to so very few, yet when I enter the bear pits of the likes of Eratosphere, i just think - get me the fuck out of here...
Maybe it's just me, a nostalgic trip that hasn't really ended, and maybe should. BUT I'll be really sad not to read your fine poems any longer. Some of the finest poets I've read are posted on here and I'm very proud of that fact.
Cheers
Kris

I know, I just find it so hard to let go of! But let go I must...
I was discussing with Mac that i may just keep it going until October (when the begging bowl for contributions rears its head) if no-one is bothered in contributing, then farewell.
Just out of interest T, what other forums do you post on?
Cheers

It seems a bit daft, but I've only contributed to this place. I have looked at Erat. but it's very off-putting for many reasons. Maybe Ill have to get my arse into gear if this place folds..

I agree. Not for me.I have looked at Erat. but it's very off-putting for many reasons.
That's what's so frustrating about not having a regular contribution here. Even if it was a minimal amount of poets, 5 or 6 say, with the odd newbie blowing in from the frontiers. I could probably do more 'marketing' create a facebook page, look a little more closely at the SEO/Optimisation...But it's time I just don't have...
Oh well, trudge onward, and appreciate who we do have, see what happens.

I'm sorry if I missed a post on another page here. Are we losing this forum? I hope not! It's been a huge help to me, even though I'm pretty new!
If so, do you all know of other good (or at least okay-ish) forums?

Hey Anna,
I shall do the same this October and if people are still interested in keeping the place running, then so be it, I shall renew for another year. If there is no uptake, then I'm afraid I shall call it a day.
So that's where we're at.
Cheers

Well it's a long standing issue as to whether it's actually worth keeping the place running with so few contributors? Basically I run the place (well the technical side of things) and it takes time and costs. The locals and stalwarts have been brilliant in contributing each year. So each October I get out the old begging bowl and ask people to contribute whatever they can, if they'd like to keep the place alive. Are we losing this forum?

That makes sense, but it's too bad! I'll be happy to contribute. The small number isn't ideal, but for me it's less overwhelming!
Thanks for catching me up!

That's great to hear and much appreciated, and i agree. I've always found this place and its contributors far more civilised than most forums. It suited me back when it was Poet's Graves and it suits me now, that's why I took it over and tried my best to keep it running. It's a worthy place, full of talented poets and critters of the highest order.I'll be happy to contribute. The small number isn't ideal, but for me it's less overwhelming!
We shall plod on in our own inimitable way!
Cheers
