I am a lost soul seeking the warmth in your eyes
To still my demons and quell my cries
As fragile as you are you hold me stern
and teach me lessons you have let to learn
unconditional love you give to me
cradle my broken heart and set it free
my blood courses its way through your veins
sweeping away my tortured thoughts and pains
through heaven’s gates I am now allowed to pass
sanctified by my little angel’s laugh
before you became I knew not the joy of flight
now I soar on winds birthed when you gave me life
to see you grow, to watch you gleam
you are the brightest flower in the height of spring
Sleep my princess, sleep and smile
Dream of meadows for miles and miles
And when you awake I will be there
Waiting for you to hold me near
You are my air
You are my air (to my baby daughter)

Having daughters, I understand. But work on being heartfelt without being trite. I was able to guess the second half of every line before I read it.
Keep trying.
Cheers.
