...Headlice had been Discovered in the Class.

Sitting on the edge
Of the bath under a bright
Bulb, we groom ourselves
Meticulously like a
Troop of chimpanzees.

Cam

ps apparently they have headlice in the House of Commons now.

It's true we originate from monkeys so the theory goes...
Grooming ourselves etc nice little piece Cam..Although i would say that they have more than headlice going on in the house of commons....LOL...
They would probably tax them aswell if they could..

Tom..

Enjoyed the image. It's hard to though - you're using the sort of language one finds in Haikus...umm...what am I trying to say?...basically, I suspect there's a form your using here, but I've not yet figured out what it is.

Could be wrong. Yes, could always be wrong.

They have headlice in the House of Commons? That's democracy for you...

But the poem - ahhh, the poem speaks of a time not so very long ago when the "nit-nurse" terrorised school corridors everywhere - when She wasn't a proprietory cold remedy, but an instrument of humiliation. Those were t'days...

And as I have to say I am far too young (at a tender 38) to have experienced said matronly menace first-hand, it speaks volumes of the poem that it should evoke in me memories which I never had. To misquote Shakespeare's Julius Caesar - such things are dangerous. 8)

that should read a tender 38, not a tender 3... But I shan't throw my toys out of the pram over it.

Thanks gents. It's written in alternating lines of 5 and 7 syllables.

Cheers
