Stink-toe, fluff hoard,
stone insider,
unravel rag, slip low,
partner roanoking,
perfunctory condom
of the soles of souls,
free me into the grip
of the great god
Summersandalus.

Alongside Stink-toe, fluff hoard, perfunctory condom et al, I'm not sure I want to know what partner roanoking is. And slip low is something of a mystery too. What's afoot, Mr Crook?

Much enjoyed! Though I don't think I've ever had stones get inside my socks.

Sheffield is truly a Utopia.
It may be that I quote often take my socks off when walking on the beach and so...

Ha!
Liked this Seth. It put a smile on my face and kept it there.
The things we can write about. People are always asking for
something new; you've achieved this in spades.
Loved 'summersandalus'.
Best

I had to look up cantrip. I always have to look up cantrip. (I always think it's a verse form, like sestina or something, and am always pleasantly surprised.)
And this is fun. Seems to start in Anglo-Saxon and end with the invocation of some Roman deity. Roanoking is a very nice coinage.
Cheers

Thanks JJ.
Loved 'summersandalus'.
A much neglected deity.
Thanks David
I had to look up cantrip. I always have to look up cantrip.
I am of course following in the footsteps....or flight pattern...of the Magpie. Jane and I were in an anthology recently (Three Drops from a Cauldron) and her contribution was "Market Cantrip". I thought it was time to write one.

Good fun this, Seth, though I fear we might be returning into the arena of the woolen winter warmer. Perhaps the condom reference is distracting, perhaps not. And is a sock perfunctory? Is a condom? As much as I dislike both, I think not.
Perfunctory comments aside, this is great.

Thanks very much, Steve. Glad it made for the smile.
Thanks very much, Luke......nice to see you around.
And is a sock perfunctory?
In the summer, Yes. In the winter...no.
