9th letter

Is “I” a univocal term?
No matter when or how I say it, it means oversleeping and unpaired socks.
Except being the 9th letter of the English alphabet, “I” enjoys making love,
singing loudly, and remembering random quotes.

“I” cannot write poetry sober, drinks too much, and gets angry.
“I” has a crack between its thighs that it repeatedly tries to stitch.
“I” cries in pain and makes stupid decisions.

“I” sometimes wishes to be something else but is too scared of change.

“I” searches.
It has multiple voices.

“I” is not univocal.

I was kind of getting the poem until the "crack between its thighs" line.

To be honest, I'm not sure what "univocal" means -- is that just another way to say "singular"?

I'm also not sure what "I searches" indicates, some kind of plurality?

I like the tenor of the language, but don't really get the poem.

Hello, thank you for the comment! I really appreciate it.

Univocal means something that has only one meaning, for example, "photosynthesis." So the point of the poem was that "I" does not have only one voice and constantly changes, looking for itself.

Regards!

I like the passion and the underlying sexual tension in this poem. That said: As a writer you have to ask yourself: If Fyodor Dostoevsky asked me any question about my poem, how would i hold up?
Is “I” a univocal term?
I'd say you'd fold in a whim, in a second.

When writing about such huge existential subjects, you have to be confident of your answers.

We have all written "Deep" stuff, we have all mostly failed.

Cheers
Kris

Like the title. The crack and the quotes were my fav bits. I don't feel you need L1.

Enjoyed the read. The 2nd line is great.
Except being the 9th letter of the English alphabet, “I” enjoys making love, - At first I thought "Except" was meaning the same as "Because". Maybe "Apart from being..." would be better.
