It makes me shiver every time
A strange sensation running down my spine
Every time I hear something that reminds me
Of a long remembered, thought forgotten memory.

Every time that I'm in London, I see ghosts of you and me
Hand in hand, walking in front, past buses and taxis
Every time I hear the name Euston Station on the news
I remember waiting on the concourse, full of expectation, full of you

When I'm there, I keep thinking that you'll tap me on the shoulder and smile
And all this time inbetween can be forgotten, if only for a short while
I keep hiding behind my collar just in case you think that I'm there for you
Knowing you're five minutes walk away, a lifetime away would be more true

My legs start walking in your direction, my mind walks away
I've got to move on, keep my demons at bay
But every corner I turn I bump into our former glories
The ghosts of London have written the ending to this shadowy story
The ghosts of London now own these streets
The ghosts of London will never let me be

the repetition in the final stanza sounds quite good, and, though i feel some parts of the poem get bogged down by unexplained or uneccesary details, it has a good flow.

Nice to see a love poem Steve. Like it. It reminds me of Autumn Journals by Louis MacNeice - ' All of London littered with remembered kisses.'

However, I do agree with azathoth that it loses it in places. The specific details are the best for me. Home in on the particulars! Bring the memories to life. Use the five senses!

This is definitely one to work on. Not sure about the last stanza though. First three are the best for me.

Perhaps you could re-jig and re-post.

Cheers
Cam
