We preach to the poor and teach them to run,
crowd them together in high towered slums.
Demonstrate coin is the ultimate gun,
pleasure belongs to the man of great sums.
Agreed, their life will be, more or less, grim,
troublesome even, not one of great perks.
But wealth, history shows, flows in them,
their desperate service, and hourly works.
Sometimes it becomes too much. My guess is
we should all live equal, I confess it.
But who could afford the higher prices?
We'd all have to suffer, you must admit,
if everyone had a real chance. But ask,
why should we question blind circumstance?
