Okay, I know you have all been on the beach, licking your ice creams, hankies tied over your bald heads, enjoying the summer. But that is over. Time to get up from your deck chairs.
The challenge is simple.
A poem about
1. A walk, in which
2. there is also some associated journey of understanding.
So, a walk to the pub and along the way you realise that......
Ideally the real walk and the metaphorical journey should be tied together in some interesting way.
It does not have to be a country walk. Urban is fine. A walk on the roof is fine.
It does not have to be a journey that reveals the meaning of it all. The realisation can be quite modest.

Interesting... been on a lot of walks lately. Moments of truth may have been less common.
Will see what I can come up with...

This is actually a lyric Seth,so I hope it fits the challenge.
A Long Long Road (blues lyric)
I've been walking ...
my whole life through.
Trying to do what a man's got to do.
Yes I’m walking,
but it's a long long road.
I've been walking …
just to make it on time.
To get there early – to get what's mine.
Well I’m walking
but it's a long long road
My mumma told me stand up tall.
Pick yourself up every time you fall.
Keep both eyes on your journey’s quest.
It's a winner's world –
Ain’t no second best
So I'm walking, fast as I can.
Can't slow down got to be the man.
Times I bend underneath the load
got to get myself up
'cause it's a long long road
I had me a job always bent my back
but my woman wanted more
(and ain't that a fact)
working day and night to keep on top
'Cause it's a long long road can't afford to stop
So I'm walking
even though I'm beat
I’m working my way up to easy street.
The good Lord knows it's a heavy load
But there ain't no rest
'cause it's a long long road
