I've had four illustrations accepted for 'Still the Sea Rolls On': a book of words and images commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Hartley Pit Disaster, edited by Keith Armstrong and published by Northern Voices Community Projects with the support of North Tyneside Council. It's being launched at the North of England Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers, Newcastle, at the end of the month with a lecture, buffet, music (including Northumbrian pipes) and poetry readings. I'm definitely going to have to move some of my teaching around so that I can get there. Sounds like it'll be a great event.

Sounds like a very interesting event - well done.

Didn't think this forum would be used much when we first set it up, but look at us now...

Thanks Ros. Success breeds success. The more people post in this section, the more other people who previously haven't been able to nerve themselves to submit stuff think 'if she can do it, then why not?' It's all good!

Congratulations.
Mining connected poetry is one of my keen interests.

Ah! You mean mining-connected. I was picturing you mining words from connected poems. Though that's good too.
