Snakeskin June
Ta muchly, MacPhil. I haven't seen Eira here for a few months, I think. I do hope she hasn't left; Word-Bird and I like her a lot (^v^)
Time was too tight to post the sonnet for workshopping, but we have to register our gratitude to one John Isbell for a quick tweak session before whizzing off! Thousand thank-coos, John, and of course congrats to Ray and Marty. Champers for all!
Bw,
Fliss

Congratulations everyone. I have stopped trying to get into Snakeskin.

If you don't like the black theme, it is easy to switch to a lighter color. Just ask me how.
If I don't critique your poem, it is probably because I don't understand it.

Aw thanks Fliss. I certainly haven't left and do often look in. I've just worked it out and am ashamed to say I haven't written anything here for 6 months! I usually hibernate for a while in winter, but this year has been the limit. Life has well and truly taken over with health problems, losing pets and stresses over my autistic son. My muse is dead I have read a number of poems here but seem to get brain fog when trying to reply.
I have started submitting again with some success so I hope to be getting back to normal soon.
Keep submitting Caleb - I've been rejected by Snakeskin a few times.
Congrats everyone else who got published in Snakeskin.
Eira
You're welcome, Eira. I'm glad you haven't left! It sounds like you've had a tough time for a while and I'm sorry your muse is dead. However, I have a feeling she's just taking a bit of a nap and will be with you again. I get brain fog too and it's hard work trying to break through it. But that's great news about your successful submissions, and thanks for the congrats, much appreciated
Best wishes,
Fliss

Well done Ray, Fliss, Eira and Martin.
Wow, what a high calibre of people we have on here!
There's a beautiful full moon tonight too in England, it's very big and yellow. My daughter asked me why the sun is out at night. Maybe there's something to muse on there.

It's a strawberry moon. A Cherokee term, I believe.

Shining with all his might:
He did his very best to make
The billows smooth and bright —
And this was odd, because it was
The middle of the night.

That's funny John because I was thinking of the exact same poem and nearly quoted it myself. We're definitely on the same wavelength you and I
Next I'm going to weep about the quantities of sand on the beach.

Many things indeed! Lewis Carroll was certainly a genius, it seems to me. I'll leave his personal life to the side in saying that: I think the poems stand on their own, and the books for that matter.
Yes, very best of luck.
Cheers,
John

I'm so sorry that life has gotten hard for you. My involvement in the trans issue has made me aware of how much more difficult life is, overall, for women. Dealing with your son all by itself would put a block on your creativity. However, it could also at some point become a source of inspiration. As for your health problems, I hope they aren't serious. I literally have 12 to 20 health problems (the number depending on whether I include health issues that aren't serious). I'm still alive at 72, though.
