Sorry, I know I'm a numptie, but how do I cut and paste someone else's crit into my post?

e.g. Edward Lear wrote

"the owl and pussy cat went to sea"

I can get the quote part sorted, but not the associated name.

You just highlight the quote that you want and click on the 'quote' button in the top right corner of the quoter's post.

Like this:

I'm a numptie
