This fir touched the ceiling
when she came in bound,
but unleashed she stayed wound,
refusing to be strung,
faithful to the snow
on the hill.
We teased her with bulbs
and told stories
till at last our wanting
released her full glory.

I liked that!

Happy Xmas, Jackie

Our Christmas tree is looming approvingly over my shoulder as I read your poem, Jackie. Happy Christmas!

Cheers

I like the idea of the fir staying faithful to the snow on the hill... :)

Sets a lovely mood. I like how the few rhymes accentuate the piece, and it wraps up nicely
