Thanks, Phil. The right 'triangle' of the painting never felt quite finished, or the figure, but there's something about it nonetheless.

The figure looks to be diving. The weight of focus feels right.

Yes, they're diving. I'm glad that the focus feels right.

If you look at the bottom right corner and slowly look upwards, you'll see the blue-grey and then the paler grey, but I don't think the bit above that should have any black marks. It needs to be softened and then a bit of colbalt streaked in.

Yes, blacks do tend to create holes, though I'm looking through the medium of the web screen so the 'flaw' is not so evident.

Yes, in reality the painting is more vivid. The black is apparent... it's actually burnt umber and crimson lake with colbalt.
