Phil, Tristan, Fliss in The Dirigible Balloon
Morning!
Happy to report that MacPhil, Tristan and one Felicity Teague appear in the August issue of TDB. Also the anniversary issue (it's one year old today), it features 80+ poems on the theme of travel. I feel honoured to be included and here's a link to all the poems: https://dirigibleballoon.org/
I should add that our John Isbell assisted me with two of the three poems I submitted. I missed the original deadline; editor Jonathan Humble reopened submissions for a short period; and I worked very quickly to put things together! John's suggestions were excellent as always
Best wishes,
Fliss

Many congrats to Fliss and Phil. Read all your poems and enjoyed them all immensely. Love children’s poetry. There’s so many other great poems there too. The Dirigible Balloon is a great project. I’m going through all the poems with my 11 year old daughter - she loves poetry.
Many thanks to Fliss for flagging up The Dirigible Balloon to me on Twitter. Much appreciated!
Cheers,
Tristan

Hello again,
Just doing a little bump, as two of my three poems now have audio
https://dirigibleballoon.org/poem/A-wandering
https://dirigibleballoon.org/poem/Song-of-the-Dodos
I haven't been able to perform 'Sail Away' just yet, as I need to cast a tern and a seal, lol. I'm a natural soprano, so I can't quite do descant or bass
Bw,
Fliss
PS: I saw on Twitter earlier this evening that, after the September issue of TDB, it'll be closed for a while so the editor can concentrate on the anthology

Hi Tristan,
Hooray! Thank you; I'm happy you enjoyed the recordings. I was actually very nervous the first time I read for TDB, but I'm getting more confident the more I do it. I find it helps to talk and laugh to myself for a while beforehand, to relax my voice. I also have a mug of warm tea, water, and a couple of lemon Ricolas; that all helps too, somehow
Best wishes,
Fliss
