It’s the idiocy,
I think,
that keeps me
coming back:
the tight sundresses
stretched equally
over ample nineteen
year old breasts
and forty-year old
cellulite: much more
than an eyeful every time.
So I grab up my books,
overpriced, but great decorations—
the ones I’ll never open—
and saunter off to class
like an avid pupil: ready
for learning, yearning for
knowledge and a better
future…
But it’s the fools that make the
game erratic enough to play
twice.
I’ll sit quietly for a while in the
back. Ace the class and have a
good laugh at the lemmings
marching over the cliff;
believing altogether:
education is the key.
Not for me...
Instead:
Give me nepotism, or inherited wealth.
Back to school

good combo of cynicism and humor, last line cracked me up.
you might reconsider the ellipse... I use them all the time and then force myself to undergo the painful ellipsiectomy
just a suggestion.
thanks for the laugh
(is there another little animal that leaps to its own doom? poor lemmings always get the rap. btw, I think it might be a myth. Pretty sure National Geographic chased them off to set up the scene)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemming shows the myth busted...but I'd say keep the lemming reference; it's what it represents, not the scientific accuracy of the comment.
My crit is tellyness in the third stanza. I think the same things could have been illustrated for us, not just told. Loved the humor though. I agree with the opinion of the poet wholeheartedly here.

hehe
My astronomy prof this summer bragged to us that he'd gotten his job through nepatism. That's what ya get at a junior college.
Ironicaly, this is one of your least pedantic works.
I like this one, as I tend to like all of yours that are set in the here and now.

Well there's sheep...but they seem a tad overused as well.(is there another little animal that leaps to its own doom? poor lemmings always get the rap. btw, I think it might be a myth. Pretty sure National Geographic chased them off to set up the scene)
