Viva La Bambi

An unwitting suicide?

Or maybe the pair dashed out into
The Monday morning commute
As some kind of stag-staged commentary
On suburban sprawl.

Judging from the pile-up that ensued,
I wonder if that doe-eyed innocence
Hid some el Che-like inspiration…
Anarchy! Bloody road-kill revolución!

(Herds with hooves raised: )

“We’ll take back our forests,
Even if we must destroy your world
One Toyota at a time.”

Hi BFAQ. I like this a lot. A really funny piece, just hip enough without getting achey. Opting for Toyota is a masterstroke - it would have been easy to go for a sports car or an SUV. But the generic Toyota really says it all about suburban sprawl. Two thumbs up for the black use of "doe-eyed", as well.

I liked the reference to France:

Anarchy! Bloody road-kill revolución

and the smiley face -

Good, cynical, stuff.

that was a really nice poem.

Quite funny with a macabre social commentary message attached.

I enjoyed that.
