Banter Creek

Tan your mushrooms and caramelise
a shallot, perhaps an after dinner waltz
or mystify her with a personal sacrifice
which leaves your trousers flagging.

Don’t forget to pour it gently,
wouldn’t want to include sediment
when clarity is more inclined to impress
than chasing tumblers with a flush.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Go walk about, the land has a maturity
she’ll appreciate in the right company,
the wind might chew a few riffs
if the termites don’t get there first.
Then hark back to your dreamtime
and ask yourself if realisation can gel
or envision a balmy pillow fight
in which everyone becomes a little tarred.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Play out the history, forget two aces
and ponder the remaining pair,
a joker inside your breast pocket
just might offer to walk you home.

And when she asks you to leave
follow the mare on which you came;
it was never an offer, the comfort you speak.
Should I recycle your bottle?

.
to anticipate touching what is unseen seems far more interesting than seeing what the hand can not touch

I have to say, Tim, that this is completely lost on me.If there's a coherent thread I'm not finding it. Sorry.
I'm out of faith and in my cups
I contemplate such bitter stuff.

Tim, there are great images everywhere but I feel you got a little bit lost on the way to the end.

Could you clarify more with the condinuity of images here.......just a thought, dear friend. They
seem to lapse one over the other as it were. Perhaps just me though.

It is another powerful write I will understand her in the coming months god willing.

Thanks again, Dante....enjoyed

Maybe the world is now the same abomination of desolation as it was in 1866,
when the news from Banter Creek seems to have been much the same as the news today -
money, love and death.
